More information:

In this photo you can see Agitra church, one of the hidden byzantine "jewels" of Mani. On the left side of the picture in the distance, you can see Cape Tigani, with the ruins of the Megali Maini castle on top. You can reach there following the path from the small settlement of Aghia Kyriaki. At some point the path continues straight ahead until Cape Tigani (it means Cape "frying pan", because it really looks like one), where you can see the ruins of Megali Maini castle. But if you want to see the Agitra church, you should turn left, until you reach the edge of the cliff above the sea. Then the final part of the path starts on the side of the cliff. It's not a long, or dificult one, the dificult part is to find where this final part starts. Take a good look and you 'll see some "natural" stairs going down the cliff with direction to your left. From that point, the church is only 15 minutes away. It's worth all the trouble, as the church is really beautiful and also offers great views to Cape Tigani. A few meters from the church, you will see caves used in the old days as cells for monks. The best hour of the day to visit it is late in the afternoon. The church is not visible until you reach right below. Don't go too late in the afternoon, because if it gets dark, you may not find the way back...
