RMMBD7P1–I CHING - TRIGRAMS A double page spread from an 18th century block-book version of the Book of Changes, or I Ching. The two diagrams on these pages represent the most ancient diagrams depicting the order of the eight trigrams, and their cosmic equivalents. The arrangement to the right (the first page in the Chinese system) illustrates the arrangement as set out by King Wen. This visualizes the South at the top, with the warm and brilliant trigram Li. Opposite is the North, with the cold trigram K'an. From Li, in clockwise order, are the trigrams Kun, Tui, Chien, K'an, Ken, Chen and Sun
