Homeowner Growing Tips: Grow in full sun, in well-drained, average to poor soils, with average to dry moisture levels. Allow to dry well between waterings. Tolerates low fertility, erosion, and shallow, rocky, or sandy soils. Sprouts late in spring, so be patient and mark its spot so you don't disturb it before it emerges. Can be slow to establish, but should be growing and blooming well by the third year. Resents transplanting once established, but may re-seed, if allowed.

If aphids appear, dislodge them with a strong stream of water, or spray with soapy water; avoid using pesticides!
