A Pageant Queen Was Stripped of Her Miss Great Britain Title for a Scandalous Reason
Miss Great Britain, Zara Holland, was filmed on the U.K. reality show Love Island (which is like Big Brother with dates) having sex with a fellow contestant just hours after he first arrived on the show — something she almost immediately regretted. And because of it, she has been forced to give up her crown.
After going on a date with Alex Bowen — an ex of Vicky Pattinson (a U.K. reality star) — Holland got intimate with the newbie in scenes that shocked viewers.
As a result of what was shown, the organizers of Miss Great Britain have announced that they have officially taken away the 20-year-old’s crown.
“The feedback we have received from pageant insiders and members of the general public is such that we cannot promote Zara as a positive role model moving forward.
“We wholly understand that everyone makes mistakes, but Zara, as an ambassador for Miss Great Britain, simply did not uphold the responsibility expected of the title.”
Deone Robertson, first runner-up in the competition, will be Miss Great Britain for the remainder of the year.
