Making history. For the first time ever, the state of Kentucky had not just one, but two winners in the Miss Earth USA pageant.The 2023 event was held in Orlando from Jan. 1 to 8. There were 51 Miss Earth USA and 70 Teen Miss Earth USA delegates from across the country.Danielle Mullins, 25, of Louisville, was crowned Miss Earth USA on Saturday.Mullins is a makeup artist and fashion stylist with a degree in Public Relations from Eastern Kentucky University.Miss Earth USA posted to their Facebook when she landed at Muhammad Ali Louisville International Airport Tuesday morning:Another Kentuckian was named Teen Miss Earth USA: 15-year-old Tayan Stansfield, of Shelby County.Her school, Martha Layne Collins High School in Shelbyville, tweeted its congrats."Known as Beauties for a Cause, Miss Earth empowers women through community leadership, eco-tourism, and environmental education," says the event's website. "Miss Earth is known as the planet's most relevant beauty event, including nearly 100 countries each year attending international festivities."Mullins will represent the USA in the 2023 Miss Earth event, which will be held in Vietnam later this year. The date has not yet been announced.

Another Kentuckian was named Teen Miss Earth USA: 15-year-old Tayan Stansfield, of Shelby County.
