Incredible picture shows moon with rainbow ring around it
A stunning image of the moon with a rainbow ring around it was captured by a photographer in Italy.

An Italian photographer captured a stunning image of the moon surrounded by a celestial rainbow. The rare meteorological phenomenon is called lunar corona which occurs when the light reflecting off the moon's surface is split by water or ice particles in the air.
The incredible picture was captured by photographer Alberto Ghizzi Panizza near Parma in northern Italy.
The spectacular photo captures the moon surrounded by the night-time rainbow.
"I have seen this phenomenon several times, but I had never been able to photograph it. This time, seeing it from home for the lockdown, I had with me all the necessary equipment to best capture this moment. Between 10pm and 12am I took a few hundred photos of the moon that created halos, iridescences and crowns among clouds and veils," the 45-year-old photographer was quoted as saying by LADbible. "This is the blending of a good portion of these shots to emphasize the colors of both the corona and the lunar minerals," Panizza wrote on Instagram.
The photo of the moon surrounded by the celestial rainbow has gone viral on the photo-sharing application. Netizens were mesmerised with the stunning capture.

This is not the first time that incredible meteorological phenomenons have been captured on camera. Earlier, a video of "three suns" in China had gone viral. In August last year, an incredibly flat rainbow was spotted in Devon after Storm Francis.
