OUTSTANDING BILL

Crisis-hit FAI owes Pulse Security in excess of €100,000, Irish Sun can reveal

THE crisis-hit FAI owes a security company more than €100,000, the Irish Sun has learned.

Pulse Security is owed the “significant six figure sum” by the embattled soccer body, according to sources.

It is understood the debt to Pulse Security is in excess of €100,000.

Pulse Security Management - based in Park West, Dublin - is subcontracted by the FAI to provide security for players and management.

But with the FAI in financial meltdown, we have learned Pulse is one of the companies left waiting for payment.

ANOTHER BLOW

Fine Gael TD Noel Rock last night told the Irish Sun it was another blow for the footie body.

Rock said: “The bills and the problems keep stacking up for the FAI.

“It’s clear that this whole organisation was operating on a financial knife edge for years.

“We need to make sure this never happens again - companies and their staff should not be left high and dry for money owed to them.”

Pulse Security list the FAI as one of its clients on their website.

COMPANY TRIBUTE

The FAI’s chief security officer Joe McGlue pays tribute to the work of Pulse on the website, saying: “They are one of the top and most efficient security companies we have dealt with, they give me peace of mind when they engage their appointments.”

But with the FAI in dire straits, there is a substantial bill outstanding.

The Irish Sun asked Pulse about the debt owed by the FAI to the security company, but they didn’t want to blow the whistle on the soccer body.

The director said: “We wouldn’t be commenting on anything like that now.

“We don’t comment on any of our clients operations whatsoever.”

It emerged recently that the FAI has left the gardai almost €360,000 out of pocket over its failure last year to pay any money for policing operations around major international soccer matches in Dublin.

The FAI is in financial peril as it carries debts of almost €70million.

However following a meeting between Sports Minister Shane Ross, the FAI and a Uefa delegation, hopes are high of reaching some sort of solution.
