« My painting is a form of understanding the world and is influenced both by my perceptions of people and by music. »
Ioana Baltan is a prize-winning Romanian artist based in the United Kingdom whose paintings have been exhibited in Egypt, Italy, England, and Romania. She describes her main artistic concern as illustrating the strange relationship between a person’s fragile mind and their environment. Baltan also explores secondary themes such as hallucination, madness, dreams, and the distortion of reality. Her compositions invite the viewer into a chaotic world of contrasts, as inspired by the philosophy of Nietzsche and the music of Mahler.
