Miss Venezuela stumbled through a cringe-worthy response to a simple question posed during Wednesday night’s Miss Universe pageant.

The question posed to Irene Sofia Esser Quintero by a judge: If you could make a new law, what would it be and why?

Her answer sent heads spinning.

“I think that any (laws) there are in Constitution or in life, are already made,” Esser said.

The tongue-tied beauty didn’t stop there.

“I think that we should have a straight way to go in our similar, or … in our lives,” she said. “For example, I am a surfer and I think that the best wave that I can take is the wave that I wait for it.”

To her credit, 21-year-old Esser opted to answer in English instead of her native Spanish.

She got no points for that round, but despite the language slipup, took third place in the competition.

Miss USA Olivia Culpo was crowned Miss Universe.
