Just call her Dr. Nina.

Longtime porn queen, author and activist Nina Hartley, 51, received an honorary doctorate degree from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco last month.

It’s not every academic ceremony where the honoree, when speaking about her longevity in her field, quips, “Now I work with women who are younger than my breast implants.”

She received her degree at the Erotic Heritage Museum, in Las Vegas. She has been making adult films since 1984 has become a bestselling author and speaker about positive sexuality and society.

“I do this, not just for the sex or the money, but to help others find the best way for them to get the most out the sex they do have,” she wrote on her blog after the event. “I will keep up my end of this dance for as long as I’m able, since it’s what makes me happy.”

The blonde actress and activist, who has long called herself a feminist, has been outspoken about championing positive sexuality and education.

Now that she’s over 50, she wants older women to embrace their sexuality.

“‘Cougar Town‘ notwithstanding,” she told the Las Vegas Weekly, “We don’t see many images of older women being sexual. Boomers are aging and we are not giving up our sex lives. We are not our mothers who, back then, were happy to give up sex.”
