Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 One Quart is a vintage bottling of the iconic Old No. 7 brand, created around 150 years ago by Mr Jack Daniel himself and made in the same way ever since. This specific release was bottled in the early 1970s. The origins of the Old No. 7 brand have never been completely clear. One biographer suggests that No. 7 was the registration number issued to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery, and as such had to be placed on bottles. When the districts later shifted and the distillery was issued a new number (16), Jack Daniel decided to officially name his whiskey ‘Old No. 7’ because of the name’s popularity. The whiskey went on to win numerous prestigious awards, including a Gold Medal at the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904, a Gold Medal at the Anglo-American Exhibition in London in 1914 and the Star of Excellence in Brussels in 1954.
