Florentino Perez has sent a letter on behalf of Real Madrid to Barcelona’s Gavi, giving him support after his ACL injury and wishing the player a quick recovery. Spanish radio station, Cadena Cope, reported the news earlier this morning.

The gesture from Florentino Perez represents the values of Real Madrid and puts rivalries aside in times of hardship. This is not the first time Florentino or Real Madrid have sent letters to rival players after devastating injuries. In similar fashion, both Dani Carvajal and Joselu sent their Spanish teammate messages of support and posted to their social media channels.

The most recent international break has been riddled with injuries. La Liga’s biggest stars have gone down with serious problems: Gavi, Camavinga, and Vinicius Junior are all out for an extended period of time. Questions will continue to be asked regarding the amount of fixtures in a single season and the relentless travel posed on players, particular those players who play club in Europe but travel outside the EU for international matches.
