Situated in the Aoraki/Mount Cook Village you will find the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre – a celebration of one of the world’s most famous explorers, who began his mountaineering days on the slopes of Aoraki/Mount Cook.

A great adventure for all ages, the centre is home to an informative museum and theatre, with interactive displays capturing the attention and imagination of younger visitors.

You will also learn all about the history of the Aoraki/Mount Cook region with a number of displays depicting everything from transport to climbing and more.
