From #DC, to #Berlin, #Riyadh and #Beijing, we need A LOT more women in #economics and #publicpolicy shaping the critical conversations that are influencing our lives. Despite many achievements, women are still grossly under-represented in these professions. Does it matter? YES! Female economists and public policy makers provide a unique perspective on spending priorities, government intervention, income distribution, net zero transition and many others. We need to do a lot more to encourage young women to study economics, support their research, help them get top jobs in the premier institutions, nurture and mentor them from middle management all the way in the Boardrooms and Cabinets!! #WomenInEcononmics #ECBForum
Our #ECBForum in Sintra is an excellent opportunity for PhD students in economics and finance to share their research. I strongly encourage all young scholars to consider applying. Your innovative perspectives can shape our future.

Palestine is no longer a place to live, it is a country full of religious and economic crises based on the buying and selling of a country that does not belong to its inhabitants, a country whose land was traded years ago by the elders of their people and because of this trade They received good financial resources. But they still remain in this land, and they are fueled by their statehood. At one time, Palestine belonged to a few capitalists or elders of the tribe or sheikhs of that region, and others were like tenants or laborers. They used to do it because the head of the tribe in Palestine used to keep others in his property as slavery and used them as agricultural slaves, but at some point the land of that country became unproductive and it was no longer suitable for the life of the elders of the Malik tribe. In agriculture and the fertility of the land and its administration, they were handed over and sold to the Israeli buyers, and the others were left as slaves or the residents who were moving from the sold properties in the country of Palestine, and the Israeli buyers who had a plan for the future allowed them to live. They were given a suitable place and left this country, but after years the soil became fertile and suitable for farming and living, but there was no place for them to stay because it had been sold and... summary: Palestine is no longer in Now it is imagined and caught in a military war to reach the hands of Netanyahu's Israel buyers, and the best option to evacuate Palestine (the sold country) is the settlement of others in Egypt, Netanyahu has made it easy for them and the other two countries are like the Arabian desert. And the United Arab Emirates, which has a good area for construction and delivery to this Palestinian ethnicity, should be settled and stop this conflict without a document about this country (land) sold to Israel. And the document of the elders of this country (Palestine) ethnicity. They will learn from the state of Israel to observe human rights according to the UN Charter

As a former student I can confirm that the Kiel Institute for the World Economy is a great institute for macroeconomists to study at. As of September 2024, the Advanced Studies Program (ASP) will be transformed into a 5-year, high-quality doctoral program in International Economics. This is a big step for the ASP and a huge commitment for the ASP by the Institute. Call for Applications - New PhD Program in International Economics by the Kiel Institute (in Kiel or Berlin): The global economy is undergoing a fundamental transformation and we need novel research to meet the many resulting challenges. The Kiel Institute wants to lead the process and is therefore launching a new doctoral program that aims to become Europe’s leading Ph.D. program in the field of International Economics. What distinguishes the program? · A clear focus on International Economics: The main research topics include International Trade, International Finance and Macroeconomics, Geoeconomics, Migration, International Political Economy, and Climate Economics. · Academic excellence and a unique mix of external and internal professors: Our program is unique in that we invite outstanding external professors to teach up to 8 short courses per year, in addition to the courses taught by our own faculty. As a result, our students benefit from the inspiration and feedback of a steady stream of distinguished visiting professors. The external professors for 2024/2025 will include Treb Allen (Dartmouth), Ernest Liu (Princeton), Kalina Manova (UCL), Dmitry Mukhin (LSE) and Nitya Pandalai-Nayar (University of Texas at Austin). · Generous financial and housing support: The program charges no tuition fee. Accepted students are offered a 16-months scholarship during their course phase (€1750/month). This is followed by a 3.5-year junior researcher contract (approx. 2200 Euros/month). We also offer subsidized housing at our “Haus Weltclub” (many rooms have views of the Baltic Sea). · Policy relevance: We encourage students to do high-quality academic research that matters. · A small cohort with close supervision and a collegial and supportive atmosphere: Every year we admit 4 to 5 students and offer an excellent student-to-professor ratio. We aim for a high share of female students. · Choose between the Baltic Sea (Kiel) and Berlin: After passing their coursework in Kiel successfully, students can choose to work at the Kiel headquarters or at our new Kiel-CEPR Research Hub in Berlin The deadlines are January 15 (early offers) and March 1 (late offers).
