The new Miss Great Britain was crowned at a glittering live final in Leicester on Saturday.

52 of the country's most glamorous ladies competed for the crown in front of a judging panel, including Leicester hair salon owner Barrie Stephen and reigning Miss Great Britain Saffron Hart.

During the final the hopefuls showed off their chosen fashionwear, swimwear and eveningwear outfits, before the final 15 were invited back on stage.

Eventually the judges announced the final five, with fourth and fifth places taken by Tiffany Bayliss, Miss Surrey
, and Elle Ismaili, Miss Central London.

1st and 2nd runners-up were announced as Amy Beilby, Miss Nottingham, and Madeleine Wahdan, Miss Stockport.

However taking the top spot to become the new Miss Great Britain 2018 was Kobi-Jean Cole, who won the title of Miss Bristol to qualify for the national final.

The 23-year-old anti-bullying ambassador also won the additional Beach Body award on the night.

Kobi-Jean will now embark on a year of opportunities as Miss Great Britain, along with prizes totalling more than £5,000 including an all expenses paid trip to represent GB in an International Final.

Kobi-Jean said: "I feel incredibly honoured to be given this opportunity to be an ambassador for the Miss Great Britain brand.

“I competed in Miss Great Britain in 2015 and 2016, placing in the top five each year, but chose to take a year out last year to return stronger, and more prepared than ever - I have given this my all and I’m so excited about the year ahead.”

National Director Kate Solomons added: "The standard was extremely high this year, however the judges all agreed that Kobi, who is clearly a very beautiful girl, also possessed all of the characteristics we would look for in a Miss Great Britain such as a warm personality, a genuinely kind nature, a strong role model with a fun and charismatic disposition and a hard working ethic.

"The event was a wonderful evening which helped to raise over £15,000 for our chosen charity and we were delighted to have attracted such an esteemed panel of judges. We are looking forward to getting to know Kobi and working with her this year."

Local hopeful Fiona Anthony, who is the current Miss Leicestershire, fared less well and failed to make the judges' final 15.
