Pete Doherty revealed that he's still sporting a grey beard as he posed for a picture with his pal, author Tierry Lepoire.
The 42-year-old rockstar, who shot to fame as the frontman of Babyshambles and the Libertines, appeared almost unrecognizable as he showed off his grey locks, fuller frame and facial hair for the recent social media post.
Pete, who settled down in France with his girlfriend and bandmate Katia De Vidas, 47, appears to have completely transformed his lifestyle and has even stepped away from drugs in the last few years.
In the musician's latest snap, that he shared with his 123,000 Instagram followers, Pete cast a beaming smile as he sat next to his friend.
"A splendid neighbour and a splendid writer! @thierry_lepoire," Pete captioned the snap.
Pete's fans quickly flocked the comment section to express their pleasure at seeing Pete looking so healthy and happy.
"My god, you’re glowing with health! What a heartwarming image," penned one fan.
"So nice to see your face! Looking so well," added a second.
A third wrote: "Happiest I’ve seen you look in years."
In the last few months, Pete has been sporting his silver touseled locks during several appearances on social media.
Earlier this year, Pete admitted that he credited his love of cheese on toast for the dramatic recent transformation in his appearance. After settling down in France, the musician appears to have put his wild lifestyle behind him and now prefers to catch up on sleep and snacking.
It's a far shout from the days of partying that he used to enjoy back when the band was in its heyday.
Speaking to The Sun earlier this year, the musician said: "I like Comté, Comté on toast. My guilty pleasure is sleeping.
"For years and years, I would stay up for five or six days and then I would sleep for 24 hours, so now I love sleep.
"At the moment I’m quite clean. I stopped taking heroin and ketamine."
During his interview, he also added that he instead enjoyed experimenting with making cocktails, but maintained that he wasn't an alcoholic.
Pete is most well known for forming The Libertines in the late 90s as well as facing a highly publicised drug addiction.
He also dated Kate Moss in the early noughties and shared a close friendship with Amy Winehouse before the musician sadly died.
In more recent years, The Libertines chipped in and bought a hotel to renovate in Margate which they named the Albion Rooms.
However, it appears in recent months Pete has decided to get away from Margate and move over to Normandy where he is enjoying a much quieter lifestyle.
