Magnolia's are beautiful plants with typical shaped flowers. These beautiful flowers grow during the spring creating a wonderful spring atmosphere in your garden, balcony or terrace. This mix includes the Magnolia 'Soulangeana', 'Susan' and 'Stellata'. These Magnolia's are really easy to maintain and very winter hardy, so you can enjoy them each summer again. Magnolia 'soulangeana' is a very popular ornamental shrub with beautiful flowers. The soulangeana flowers on its bare, dark brown branches in the month of April. Large, fragrant, tulip-shaped flowers appear with a lilac-pink colour. The plant can flower for a second time in the summer months. The large, oblong, dark green leaves appear during or after flowering. The plant is very hardy. For abundant flowering, it is important that Magnolia 'soulangeana' gets a sunny position in a rich, acid soil. Magnolia 'Susan' usually flowers in April with dark pink, banana-shaped flowers. Some flowers open in a fan shape. The Magnolia 'Susan' has oval leaves that become visible after flowering. Susan can grow into a full-fledged tree, but is easy to prune. The Susan is also very winter hardy and prefers a sunny position. The Magnolia stellata is a deciduous, wide-growing shrub. It grows beautiful large, fragrant, tulip-like flowers of a pure white colour in April. The firm, medium-sized green leaves appear after flowering. They fall off in the autumn. The Magnolia stellata is fully hardy, but requires a sheltered location due to the freezing of flower buds. The flowers can also be covered in winter. Plant Magnolia stellata preferably in partial shade.
