April Fools’ Day 2024 Wishes: April Fool’s Day is observed on 1st of April every year. On this day, everyone makes fun, and sends jokes to their loved ones. The intent of making fun on this day is to bring happiness among each other and enjoy to the fullest. Usually one cracks jokes with some serious content in it but it is later revealed at the end that it was all made up.
History of April Fools Days:
As per historians, April Fool’s Day is related to festivals such as Hilaria, the Latin meaning of the word is cheerful. People in ancient Rome used to change their appearance and make fun and used to play games.
The exact origin of April Fools’ Day is unknown but it is believed that its history traces back to the year 1582, when a Georgian Calendar was launched by Pope Gregory XIII. He declared that the new calendar will commence from 1st of January but instead it started from 1st of April in the older version of the calendar.
Since then, some people start to celebrate the new year from the last week of March till 1st of April. At that moment, calendars were switched and people began making fun of people who were considering the older version of the calendar to be the correct one. This incident is considered to be the time when April’s Fools Day practice started off.
