This auction is for 10, 20, 30 or 60 seeds of Lonicera pileata, home grown organically in the UK of this beautiful evergreen shrub or climber from Southwestern China.

It is an excellent evergreen shrub (it can loose its leaves in cold winters) that is ideal for a sunny or semi-shaded spot where it can be allowed to form a fine shrub, hedging or pruned topiary. It flourishes in well drained but moist humus rich soils, but is quite tolerant of other soil types, sites and moisture. This vigorous largely evergreen woody shrub produces lush dark green lanceolate leaves that are borne in opposite pairs. Plants can grow to up to 1m high and around 2m across, depeding on conditions, often staying smaller. It produces tubular, two-lipped white flowers, and are carried in showy clusters at the ends of the shoots. The Fragrant flowers are highly scented at night, much less so by day. The plant is usually pollinated by moths or long-tongued bees.These are followed by fabulous Purple berries in autumn lasting though into winter. Great for pollinators and Birds!
