Suffering Sappho! Can it really have been 15 years since Sam Raimi's Xena: The Warrior Princess came to a somersaulting end?

It may have started life as a spinoff from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, but it surpassed its predecessor in every way. And it's coming back as a reboot on NBC.

What has Lucy Lawless done since she hung up her breastplate and shouted her final battle cry? And what has Karl Urban found to fill his days since he played all those supporting roles? We have the answers.

1. LUCY LAWLESS (Xena)

The majestic Lucy Lawless never really went away, although she has stuck to more supporting roles since her last flying kick. There was the inevitable CSI cameo, and roles in Spartacus, Salem and a Tarzan show set in the modern day that we forgot existed.

Lawless is best known now for her supporting and guest roles in some of TV's best shows, from Battlestar Galactica, X-Files and Agents of SHIELD to Parks and Rec, The L Word and Veronica Mars. And she also reunited with Bruce Campbell for the Ash vs Evil Dead series.

Bonus fact: she has a dwarf planet named in her honour. Xena is actually larger than Pluto, did you know?

2. RENEE O'CONNOR (Gabrielle)

The actress who brought homosexual sub-text (and often just plain text) to the small screen as Xena's sidekick/inspiration/lover Gabrielle has been pretty quiet since putting aside her ever-shrinking costume.

She starred alongside Campbell in SyFy's schlocktacular Alien Apocalypse and some other straight-to-DVD and indie films you've never heard of, runs her own film company ROC Productions, and features in Xena reunion pictures.

3. BRUCE CAMPBELL (Autolycus)

Bruce is still showing up in his old friend Sam Raimi's movies - including the Spider-Man trilogy and Oz: The Great and Powerful - as well as the Coen Brothers' Intolerable Cruelty and The Ladykillers. He's had his share of straight-to-videos (Touch the Top of the World, the aforementioned Alien Apocalypse) as well as the cult horror comedy Bubba Ho-Tep.

After a run on Burn Notice, Bruce came back to his classic and titular role in Ash vs Evil Dead, and he even popped up as Ronald Reagan in the second season of Fargo. We're calling this the Campbell renaissance right now.

4. TED RAIMI (Joxer)

Sam Raimi's brother Ted continues to be another of his go-to guest actors in Spider-Man, Oz and Drag Me to Hell after his role as the bungling Joxer and his two identical brothers. He showed up in the Bradley Cooper-starring Clive Barker adaptation Midnight Meat Train, Supernatural and CSI (naturally), as well as Roger Corman's Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader, which we definitely have to see now we know that it exists.

5. KEVIN SMITH (Ares)

Not that Kevin Smith. This one performed the impressive feat of making the personification of violent conflict and death a remarkably likeable and layered character in Xena and its (inferior) parent show, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Tragically, Smith died after falling from a prop tower in North China, just before he was due to film for his first Hollywood movie appearance.

6. HUDSON LEICK (Callisto)

The actress who played Xena's unhinged nemesis Callisto followed the path of many of her former co-stars by appearing in some odd small-budget films, as well as cameos in Nip/Tuck, Eliza Dushku's Tru Calling and CSI. Leick has put the wide-eyed craziness of the Callisto years behind her and is now a yoga instructor and spiritual counsellor in California.

7. ALEXANDRA TYDINGS (Aphrodite)

Despite her anachronistic Valley Girl take on Aphrodite, goddess of love, Alexandra Tydings was never a star of 90210. She didn't do much more acting after Xena, and was last seen in a guest role on The Wire in 2008, which is a pretty good way to bow out of television. Her later career as a 'rock 'n' roll yoga' instructor makes her at least two orders cooler than Hudson Leick. Sorry, Hudson.

8. KARL URBAN (Julius Caesar)

Mr Urban was apparently hedging his bets by playing not one, not even two, but four different characters over Xena's six seasons, including the scantily-clad Cupid and the villainous Julius Caesar. He needn't have worried, shortly thereafter scoring the role of Eomer in Lord of the Rings, and going on to appear in Almost Human and the underrated Dredd. The rest is Star Trek history.

9. ADRIENNE WILKINSON (Eve)

Although the role of Xena's daughter Eve is probably still Adrienne's career highlight, she has kept busy. She starred in the dodgy US remake of As If, and has appeared in various TV shows such as Angel, Charmed and ER. She mostly voice acts nowadays, and was the voice and model for Maris Brood in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Mina Tang in Alpha Protocol.

10. MARTON CSOKAS (Borias)

No, that's not Khal Drogo, that's New Zealander Marton Csokas as goodie warlord Borias. Marton has been pretty prolific since then, landing supporting roles in massive films such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy (as Lord Celeborn), The Bourne Supremacy, Alice in Wonderland, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. Well, that last one wasn't massive but still. He also dated Eva Green for three years from 2005.

11. DANIELLE CORMACK (Ephiny)

Since playing Amazon Ephiny, Danielle has largely stayed in Australia and her homeland of New Zealand, where she is still a regular on primetime TV. She has had roles in The Cult, Rake, and Underbelly. She currently plays the lead role of inmate Bea Smith in Wentworth.

12. TIMOTHY OMUNDSON (Eli)

Since Xena, you possibly know Timothy best for playing regular Sean Potter in Judging Amy from 2000 to 2005, and Carlton Lassiter in Psych. He has also had roles in The OC, Supernatural, Galavant and 24. If you love playing the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, you may recognise his voice as Aric Jorgan.
