Asia Carrera's days of wearing a colander on her head in public are now behind her - at least for the immediate future.
The former Utah porn actress who made headlines in 2014 when she donned a pasta strainer for her driver’s license photo, will serve house arrest for a DUI charge.
Carrera, whose real name is Jessica Steinhauser, pleaded no contest last Thursday in exchange for avoiding jail time.

The 42-year-old mother of two, who appeared in adult films as Asia Carrera but has since changed her name to 'Asia Lemmon,' was arrested in March 2015 when she was found passed out on a couch at the Washington County School District’s office where she had taken her daughter for academic testing.
Defense attorney Douglas Terry told the newspaper The Spectrum last week that Steinhauser has a special-needs child and has been proactive about getting counselling for her problem.
Steinhauser’s plea came one day before she was set to go on trial on a single misdemeanor DUI count carrying up to a year in jail.

According to a probable cause stemming from Steinhauser's March 5 arrest, staff at the Washington County School District Office found the mother-of-two asleep on a couch and called police.
St. George police officers who responded to the scene detected the odor of alcohol on her breath.
When Steinhauser tried to leave the office, officers conducted field sobriety tests, which she failed, followed by a Breathalyzer test.

The device recorded her blood alcohol content level at .254 per cent – three times the legal limit in Utah.
Steinhauser, a native of New York City, attended Rutgers University in New Jersey and played classical piano at Carnegie Hall, according to her biography. She is also a member of the MENSA high-IQ society.

After taking the photo, she said: 'I'm a really proud, outspoken atheist.
'I am proud of Utah for allowing freedom of all religions in what is considered by many to be a one-religion state.'
