New hotels to open at Palm Jumeirah

New hotels to open at Dubais Palm Jumeirah
Rex Features

Three new luxury hotels are to open on Dubai's iconic Palm Jumeirah island before the end of 2010. Currently Atlantis The Palm is the only hotel on the world's largest man-made island, which stretches into the Persian Gulf from the coast of the United Arab Emirates.

First of the new hotels to open will be the Zabeel Saray by Rixos, which will include 410 rooms, 38 residential villas and the Middle East's largest authentic Hammam spa offering guests traditional Turkish treatments with a modern twist.

On the north-eastern crescent of Palm Jumeirah, The Royal Amwaj Resort and Spa from Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts will open in October 2010. The resort, which will be all-inclusive, has 293 rooms and six restaurants, and is set to offer guests the chance to "bundle" their all-inclusive food options to include meals at other restaurants around the island.

The hotel will also have a Balinese Spa Island with 25 treatment rooms, 18 villas perched on stilts just metres above the water, and 15 beachfront villas - each with their own chilled swimming pools.

One&Only The Palm is also due to open in October, inspired by a blend of Moorish and Andalucian influences. This intimate resort will be composed of 35 suites and apartments within the grand Manor House, six independent low-rise mansions with six to eight suites each, and 10 exclusive two and three bedroom beachfront villas. The Grand Palm Suite will occupy 350 square metres on the top floor overlooking the 850 square-metre pool or the resort's private harbour. More luxury developments are due to open in early 2011.
