Like many other Japanese sports cars from the late 1990s and early 2000s, prices of the Honda S2000 have increased dramatically in recent years and this example is one of the finest we’ve come across.

The S2000 in question has been listed up for auction through Bring a Trailer and is a 2004 example. It immediately catches the eye thanks to the Suzuka Blue Metallic finish. Adding to its desirability is the fact that it has been owned by the same family since new and has been driven just 4,400 miles (~7,081 km). It also has an aftermarket hardtop and is being sold with the owner’s manual, service records, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.

Not only does the exterior of the car look absolutely pristine but so does the interior. Adorning the seats, door panels, dashboard and sides of the transmission tunnel is blue leather that looks just as lovely as it would have when the car was fresh out of the factory. The cabin shows virtually no signs of wear and there are only a few wrinkles on the leather seats.

Given how little the car has been driven and how well it has been maintained, it comes as no surprise that the engine also looks brand new. It also happens to be one of the finest engines ever built by Honda, displacing 2.2-liters from its four cylinders and pumping out 240 hp and 162 lb-ft (219 Nm) of torque.

The car’s window sticker reveals that it was sold for $33,290 when it was new, which is roughly the equivalent of $54,000 today when accounting for inflation. Biddingg on BaT had hit $41,800 at the time of writing.
