The crunchy, salty, sesame-drenched celery sticks at Bar Goto in New York are so good, you’ll forget they’re made from vegetables.

Ingredients

celery stalks, strings removed, cut into 3x½-inch sticks

tablespoon furikake

1

tablespoon toasted sesame oil

1

teaspoon soy sauce

Toasted sesame seeds (for serving)

Preparation

  1. Toss celery, furikake, sesame oil, and soy sauce in a small bowl to coat. Chill uncovered 30 minutes to let flavors meld. Serve topped with sesame seeds.

  • The recipe cam be tasty but needs to specify to pick a furikake that has "kombu" (kelp, or more broadly seaweed) in it. Furikake basically just means "sprinkles" and can have a range of ingredients. Also, most furikake already contain sesame seeds. (Hope that restaurant is doing something very special if they're charging serious $ for this dish.)
