Where are you from ?
I was born in Holland, my parents are from Suriname.

How long have you been training ?
34 years now.

How did you get in to kickboxing ?
When I was 13 I saw it on tv, when i was 1 somebody came to teach in my hometown, that’s when i started.

When did you know you wanted to be a fighter ?
When I saw the first fight events and I thought I could beat those guys.

What is your current record ?
100 wins, 21 losses, 1 draw.

What is your favorite strike ?
A combination from the arms to the legs.

Who is your biggest inspiration ?
Actually, Nelson Mandela, for life and fight.

What team do you train with ?
I train in the gym where I started, Sokudo Gym in my hometown Hoorn.

What does being a fighter mean to you ?
Big part of my life. It made my life basically. As a person and as an athlete.

What weight do you fight at ?
My last fight I fought at 106 kg.

what do you think separates you from other fighters In your division ?
I think my technical abilities and the fact I don’t panic when things might go wrong.

If you could have one dream fight who would it be against ?
On one hand I would like to fight Bob Sapp but on the other hand I’m satisfied about my career.
Who has been your toughest fight to date ?
I did not like Sam Greco.

What is your mindset going in to a fight ?
Visualizing what I can do to my opponent and the other way around.

Who are you fighting next ?
No idea if I will fight.

What do you want to be remembered for at the end of your career ?
As a good fighter and good person.

Who has been most influential to you in your career ?
My parents who always supported me.

Who do you feel has had the biggest impact on the sport ?
May be kancho Isshii who founded K-1 and changed the fight game in kickboxing.

How would you describe your fighting style ?
Technical and calculated.

What drives or motivates you ?
My children.

What is something people might not know about you ?
I like to work in my garden.

When you are not in the gym training what do you like to do in your free time ?
Spend time with family and friends.

What do you think you would be doing if you hadn’t become a fighter ?
I have no idea, probably a dull day job.

What gets you hyped up for a fight do you have any pre fight rituals that get you ready to go to battle ?
My focus and visualization.

Where do you see the sport of  kickboxing in 5-10 years ?
One of the biggest viewing sports.

Who is your favorite fighter ?
Right now I don’t have a favorite.

Is there anyone you want to thank or give a shout out to ?
Everybody who make it possible for fighters to fight and who give fighters a positive vibe
