College athletics are back for the fall season, and Division I swimmer Andreea Dragoi is among the athletes who have returned to the gym (and pool) for another season. After a busy summer, which included an appearance in New York Swim Week at the end of July, the athlete has returned to the San José State University pool for her third season with the team.

In addition to sharing a series of photos in her vibrant blue SJSU Spartans swimsuit from media day to her Instagram on Sept. 25, the 20-year-old took to the platform to share a sneak peek of her practice routine two days later. In the Instagram clip, Dragoi practiced her butterfly technique in a blue-and-green one-piece and neon cap.

“Wednesday butterfly 🦋,” she captioned the short practice clip, which captured her stroke with an underwater camera.

“Very impressive ♥️ way to go,” one follower gushed in the comment section of the post.

“Mermaiddd💙💙,” another aptly added.

According to the SJSU athletics website, the swimmer competes in butterfly, freestyle and individual medley relay events during the swim season. Her butterfly events include both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly, both of which she competed in last season. With the 2023-24 season starting this week, practice is sure to be ramping up. We will be keeping up with the athlete’s results as she takes on her junior season, which runs through the NCAA championship in March.
