Description
The M 300 was a half-track mono machine with a maximum reel size of 5″. It was small, light and portable with a sturdy metal frame protecting the internal parts from the adverse conditions that one might expect a portable tape machine to encounter. A single speed of 3¾ ips was supplied by a fairly unique tape drive mechanism consisting of two counter-rotary flywheels ensuring constant tape speed even when the recorder may be being swung around during walking.
The unit was transistorized and weighed under 7lbs.
Completely independent of mains power, the M 300 could be powered by five flashlight batteries or one rechargeable “Dryfit” storage battery. It could also be connected to ac supply or to a car 12v adaptor.
