Just in time for the Holidays. The very limited edition bottle is individually serialized. The 2007 edition of Samuel Adams Utopias is a blend of brews, some of which have been aged for up to 13 years in a variety of woods. A portion of the beer was aged in some of the world's best hand-selected, single-use bourbon casks from the Buffalo Trace Distillery. This extended aging process enhances the distinct cinnamon, vanilla, and maple notes in the beer's flavor. Thebeer is then finished in sherry and Madeira casks from Portugal . The sherry casks add nutty, oaken and honey notes, while the Madeira casks contribute slightly more elegant creamy fudge-toffee aromas and flavors. the 2007 batch of Samuel Adams Utopias weighs in at 27% alcohol by volume. The average beer is about 5%. Also included is a gift card to redeem a FREE special edition glass exclusively designed for this beer by world renowned glass maker Georg Riedel. Jim Koch turned to world renowned glassmaker Georg Reidel for his help in designing the perfect glass to sample this perfect beer.
The first Utopias I ever tasted was a 2007, and the first sip literally made my body tingle with delight from head-to-toe. It was magical, perhaps the most enchanting mouthful of beer I’ve had in my lifetime. That 2007 vintage was certainly worth a couple of hundred dollars for a bottle.
