Analysis

It’s the only men’s pro race held entirely in Navarra; the home event for the Movistar Team, so close to its Pamplona headquarters. That makes this event a really special one.

The main key point, yet not the only demanding stretch, of the GP Indurain is the four climbs of the Alto de Ibarra, a short, sharp climb that will also act as final difficulty of the race, just 1.4km from the end.

It will be tackled for the first time after 55km, with the other three located into the second part of a race which also includes three ascents of the non-categorized Muru; the tough ‘Altos’ of Guirguillano (Cat-1; -63km) and Lezaun (Cat-2; -45km) and, most importantly, 2x the Alto de Eraul (Cat-2), last crested with 10km to go and a perfect place for the final selection to form before the last series of Muru + Ibarra.
