With colourful, psychedelic mushrooms, magical fairies and an enchanted, oversized seamstress shop, the Autumn Harvest display at the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Las Vegas offers a whimsical break from slot machines and Formula 1 construction. It also gave us a break from dealing with the cyber attack affecting all MGM properties at the time of our visit in mid-September.

New Bellagio Hotel Conservatory Autumn Harvest display
The new seasonal display opened Sept. 15 at the Bellagio Hotel Resort & Casino, a large resort located on the Las Vegas Strip, famous for its dancing fountain displays. The conservatory is located next to the resort’s lobby, which boasts its own impressive displays.

How often do they change the Bellagio Hotel Botanical Gardens?
Each season, the Bellagio Conservatory’s enormously talented Horticulture and Engineering teams transform the 14,000-square-foot Botanical Gardens into a showcase of inspiring sights, sounds, scents and colors.
Display themes change for spring, summer, fall, winter and the Lunar New Year.

Besides designers, engineers and electricians, the Bellagio Conservatory has a horticulture team of 120-plus members, who change out the design and also replant and repurpose as much of the living plant material as possible, further celebrating Mother Nature and the Bellagio’s commitment to sustainability.

Planning for each display begins a year in advance at a cost of up to $1 million each. The Autumn Harvest display is in place until Nov. 5, when it will go dark for five days while it is replaced with the Winter-themed spectacle.

New Dinning Experience in the Bellagio Conservatory
New this year is the opportunity to dine in the Conservatory. This new concept features tempting creations from the talented Bellagio culinary team and is served in the serene beauty of the Conservatory. Each experience is artistically inspired by the season of the year. This special table seats up to six guests maximum for brunch and four for dinner.

Are the Bellagio Gardens free?
The Bellagio Gardens are operated by MGM Resorts International, are open 24-hours a day, are free and well worth the visit. Guests from Park MGM, Aria and Vdara can grab the free tram that runs between Park and the Bellagio every few minutes.
