With less than 18,000 units ever produced, most would view chopping up an original BMW E30 M3 as being objectively sacrilegious. With that said, we also imagine that most would agree that Ronald Norat of Miami-based shop Renner Projekts gets a pass with his meticulously constructed E30 restomod.
Known as the Projekt 3, this stunning build has been brought to life using a spare-no-expense approach, with hundreds of thousands of dollars and several thousand man-hours going into the project. In place of the donor’s S14 four-banger, Renner has bestowed the BMW with a 5.0-liter S85 V10 engine from an E60 M5. Unsatisfied with the stock V10’s 500hp, the shop has also tuned the S85 mill to 625hp — while also treating the engine to a custom carbon fiber intake.
Renner has also gifted the build a custom set of widebody-style bodywork. Under the surface, this wildly elite restomod has received an enormous slew of modern performance upgrades including race-spec braking hardware and a high-end suspension setup. The entire build also rides on a custom set of aero-disc-inspired wheels made by Renner. The transformation that Projekt 3’s interior saw was equally involved, gaining custom upholstery and panels throughout — a modification that hugely modernizes the cabin while also bolstering its levels of luxury and comfort.
Renner Projekts’ Projekt 3 BMW E30 M3 restomod is currently for sale, with an asking price of $350,000. Like all BMW builds from Renner Projekts, the Projekt 3 is a limited build series that will be restricted to just 10 units worldwide.
