Who was Elena Larrea? What was the cause of death of the founder of Cuacolandia?

On the morning of Wednesday 20 March it was reported that Elena Larrea had passed away. She was known for being the founder of Cuacolandia, a place located in Puebla, dedicated to rescuing horses, donkeys and other animals in situations of abuse.

The news was confirmed through social media by her family, who shared her passing with Elena’s followers. Meanwhile, the refuge issued a statement confirming the cause of death.

“With deep sorrow, we inform of the passing of Elena Larrea, president and founder of Cuacolandia, who sadly passed away yesterday, Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 3:30 p.m., due to a pulmonary thrombosis that caused a clot in her lung,” the statement indicated.

Elena Larrea: horse rights and OnlyFans

For many years, Elena focused on animal activism, particularly advocating for horses. In fact, alongside the Animalist Movement of Puebla (MAP), she succeeded in having bestiality classified as a crime in the state.

Additionally, Larrea, who died aged just 31, pursued modelling and chose to venture into OnlyFans to increase her earnings, which helped support the horse refuge.

On social media, several of her fans and followers mourned her death, highlighting the work she did to assist horses and the love she had for them.
