LIGHT
Giving your cyclamen bright, indirect light in the winter when the plant is actively growing is ideal. When the spring and summer roll around, the plant becomes dormant, and it’s best to keep cyclamen in a cool, dark spot with good air circulation.
WATERING
Watering when leaves are present, and the plant is actively growing, you’ll want to water whenever the soil feels dry about an inch below its surface. Avoid getting water on the leaves or crown of the plant, which can cause it to rot. In the summer, while the plant is dormant, water infrequently only to prevent the soil from entirely drying out.
TEMPERATURE
Your cyclamen will not tolerate extreme heat, drafts or dry air, so keeping it in cooler temperatures will help extend the life of their beautiful blooms. They grow best in temperatures between 50° and 60°Â F.
FERTILIZER
Feed your cyclamen plant with a diluted liquid low-nitrogen fertilizer every couple of weeks while in full leaf. You don’t need to fertilize cyclamen while it’s dormant.
HUMIDITY
Cyclamen flowers enjoy areas where there is higher humidity like a bathroom or kitchen. If you need to incorporate humidity placing the pot on a tray of damp rocks will help.Â
PET FRIENDLY
Mildly toxic if eaten in large quantities. Keep away from dogs, cats, and children.
