This Volkswagen Rail & Dune Buggy got away, but there are more like it here.

This custom dune buggy was reportedly built in the 1970s and features a fiberglass tub over a shortened Volkswagen chassis. It is finished in silver over black vinyl and powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 15″ chrome wheels, Meyers Manx–style headlights, Chevrolet Impala taillights, a wood shift knob, and a roll bar. The seller acquired the car in 2016, and a subsequent refurbishment reportedly included replacing the floor panels, repainting the body, overhauling the suspension and brakes, and replacing the carburetor, fuel tank, tires, and windshield. This dune buggy is now offered with a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name listing the car as a 1970 Handmade Roadster.
