Lot #111160

This dune buggy features a fiberglass body mounted to a modified Volkswagen chassis. The car was acquired by the current owner in January 2021 and subsequently underwent a cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment by Chirco Performance & Restoration of Tucson, Arizona. Finished in red over black cloth upholstery, the buggy is powered by an air-cooled 1,776cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, drum brakes, dual side-view mirrors, a Grant steering wheel, a roll bar, and Tri-Mil exhaust system, and an EMPI intake manifold, shifter, and seats. This dune buggy is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with refurbishment receipts and a clean Michigan title listing it as a 1962 Volkswagen.

The three-spoke Grant Formula GT steering wheel fronts a black dashboard housing a 90-mph speedometer with an inset fuel gauge as well as readouts for oil pressure and oil temperature. The air-cooled 1,776cc flat-four engine is fed by a single carburetor mounted to an EMPI-branded intake manifold and features a polished Tri-Mil exhaust system and a Bosch ignition coil.
