The newly restored mural in the lobby of 30 Rockefeller Center “American Progress,” painted in 1933 by the Spanish artist Jose Maria Sert, was unveiled Thursday. The mural, 16 by 41 feet, was restored to the artist’s original vision through a detailed, slow process of chipping off a yellowish coating applied in the 1970s.

I believe this is the mural that replaced Diego Rivera’s, after it was deemed too controversial…another version of Rivera’s picture is in the opera house in Mexico City.
