Agnes Szavay thrilled her home crowd to beat Patty Schnyder to defend her GDF Suez Grand Prix title in Budapest.

In a repeat of last year's final, the Hungarian No. 1 beat her doubles partner 6-2 6-4 to win her fourth career title.

The No. 7 seed came flying out of the blocks, stunning Schnyder with a double break of serve to take the opening set.

While Szavay had to come from a set down to beat her opponent last year, there was no such opposition from Schnyder this year, who struggled with her second serve.

After a trade of breaks early in the second, the world No. 49, who reached career high 13 in April 2008, broke again in the ninth game and served to love for the match.

"It's unbelievable to win in Hungary again," Szavay said. "The crowd was great, just like last year. To win two times at home, I can't describe this feeling.

"It was a tough match, especially because of the weather - it was really hot. We also both had long matches yesterday, so we were both pretty tired. But we tried to do our best. I think mentally it was better for me today. We played in the final last year and I won in a tight match, and I think she was thinking about it. She seemed a little nervous at the beginning."
