Sandra Bachici from Timisoara in western Romania won a modeling contest in early December and got the title "Miss Romania 2010". From age 12 she has been participating in beauty contests. The now 18-year-old woman went on the catwalk despite a torn ligament in the ankle and won.

She consulted a doctor before the competition and he allowed her to participate. Immediately after that she went to a specialist, who decided to put her leg in plaster. For the next time, the runway is not an issue because she had to use crutches for several weeks. But Sandra Bachici will represent her country in the international competition which takes place in China. "I hope I can walk without problems in about two weeks", said the new Miss Romania.
